Europe’s leading specialist retailer for Left Handed golfers is now celebrating two decades in business!

Left Handed Golf was founded on a rainy February day in 2004 by PGA Professional Terry Sims, who identified a gap in the market. Initially established at Kingswood Golf & Country Club, the aim was to provide Left Handed golfers with a shopping experience that matched the service and variety previously only enjoyed by their right-handed counterparts.

Starting with the purchase of the domain lefthandedgolfco.uk, Terry began sourcing Left Handed equipment, and subsequently opened a physical store at Kingswood. The business expanded its reach by participating in various golf shows across the UK, including The London Excel, Scotland Golf Shows, and events at the NEC. They introduced popular left-handed golf days at Kingswood (and for a brief period even ventured into selling left-handed golf polo shirts).

In July 2013, after nine years at Kingswood Golf Club, the business was acquired by the Dwellcourt Group and relocated to Silvermere Golf Complex, just 20 minutes away. This move aimed to enhance the facilities and shopping experience, establishing their new Left Handed only golf store.

In 2014, With an ever-keen eye for opportunity, Terry led a full overhaul of the facilities at Silvermere including a multi-million-pound investment in a state-of-the-art 52-bay, two-tiered driving range.

The business experienced significant growth after the move, almost tripling in size thanks to the additional facilities and featuring a Left Handed only custom fitting bay. Left Handed fitting services continue to thrive due to the extensive range of equipment available from major golf hardware brands and recently a new Quintic putter fitting studio.

The custom fitting experience has been further improved with the expertise of fitting technicians and the ability to fit outdoors using high-quality Titleist ProV1 golf balls, emphasising the no-compromise services and choice available for Left Handed golfers.

In addition to its physical store, which employs six full-time staff members, Left Handed Golf operates a successful online business. This year, the company invested in a new website and loyalty app, allowing them to continue to improve their offering to the thousands of customers they have both domestically and abroad.
