New Procedures for Entering Competitions and Recording Scores

As a safety measure, as from Monday 23rd March the competition folders in the Members Bar will no longer be in use.  Members wishing to enter for a competition will need to access the BRS system and register themselves for the competition in the blocked-out section for members Tee times.

Similarly, members wishing to play are also asked to contact the golf office and pay any fees required beforehand

In order to record competition scores in a lower risk manner, the terminal in the Members Bar will be closed down.  Similarly, the box for score cards will be closed off.

In order to record competition scores, the following should be adopted;

There should be one scorecard per group with one player per group nominated to record all players scores.  For a 4 ball use Markers score, Player A, Player B & Nett score.  Players to make the use of each column explicit.

Only the marker needs to signs the card.

Take a Photo of the completed card and send it to by 17:00 on the day of the competition to confirm entry.

Booking the Tee

You can book tee times at anytime via the online booking system or by contacting Silvermere administration, however for competitions there are separate booking processes and you will find these in the document below:

There are normally several competitions every week including dedicated competitions for both Senior and Lady members. We try to have a variety of formats and there are often trophies or prize vouchers to be won. Find out more about the competitions in the documents below:

In order to obtain a World Handicap System (WHS) handicap index a player is required to hand in three scorecards played at Silvermere (either yellow or white tees), correctly completed (Stroke play format). At least two of the cards must be signed by a current Silvermere member. The cards should be clearly marked “For Handicap” in the competition name space, have the tees played marked and be sent via WhatsApp to the Handicap Secretary. Your handicap index will be established within a week and will be emailed to you and also published on the handicap list on the notice board on the outside of the starters hut.

A full guide to the WHS can be found by clicking below.

Course Etiquette

Everyone’s enjoyment of the game is enhanced if we all follow some simple rules to look after the golf course and show consideration to our fellow players. Please take the time to read the document below and particularly how to avoid slow play:
