KJ Choi at Silvermere

We were proud to host a visit from Nike Tour Player KJ Choi on the 13th of July.  The 37 year old was the first Korean-born player to earn a PGA Tour Card and the first Korean on the PGA Tour!  The former teen powerlifter is now in the world top 20 with career earnings of over $13 million and is now chasing after his next goal, winning a major.

KJ was here for 5 hours and gave lessons to the lucky competition winners (shown below) followed by a very interesting clinic.  After signing autographs he played 5 holes at Silvermere with two more lucky prize winners and Craig Jacoby, one of our custom fit experts.  KJ very much enjoyed himself on the course making a birdie up 18 to finish in style!

We would like to thank Nike for their help in organising the event and of course for getting him to Silvermere in the first place.  We would also like to wish good luck to KJ for the up and coming Open at Carnoustie and after seeing him split the fairways at Silvermere he should certainly be one of the players challenging on Sunday afternoon!
