For 2008 Doug McClelland, PGA Master Professional, has instigated new and improved courses of lessons for people who have little or no golfing experience.

The course structures have been designed by golfers who have been members of the Professional Golfers Association for over 20 years, headed up by Director of Teaching, Ron Noel. 

The range of practice facilities at Silvermere allows us to put together a complete teaching package covering all aspects of the game.  The size also means you can learn in a friendly group environment with people learning the same skills as you and hopefully you’ll make a few friends along the way.

The programme has been designed to allow you to learn to play golf for just £10 a week!  See below for the basic structure of the Give Golf a Go programme:

Stage 1: Starter Class (click for dates)
4 x 1 hour lessons on the range
£10 per lesson (lesson 4 free of charge if lessons 1-3 are completed)
Range balls not included

Stage 2: Improver Class (click for dates)
4 x 1 hour lessons on the range and short game areas
£10 per lesson (lesson 4 free of charge if lessons 1-3 are completed)
Range balls not included

Stage 3: Golf Course Introduction
90 minutes on the golf course with your Pro followed by a free pint, glass of wine or soft drink in the Inn on the Lake
£15 per person

Stage 4: Improver II Class
4 x 1 hour lessons on the range and short game areas
£10 per lesson (lesson 4 free of charge if lessons 1-3 are completed)
Range balls not included

Stage 5: Playing Lesson
90 minutes on the golf course with your Pro followed by a free pint, glass of wine or soft drink in the Inn on the Lake
£15 per person

Stage 6: Choices Available
At this point there are a variety of routes available at Silvermere including Individual Lessons and Silvermere Golf Academy membership.  It will be up to you and the Professional to decide which is the best route to suit your lifestyle and your game.
